Getting your IELTS results is easy
There are a few ways you can view your IELTS results
How to access your IELTS results
- Preview your IELTS results online
If you have taken the computer-delivered IELTS test, you can preview your results online within 3-5 days after your test date. If you take the IELTS paper-based test, you can preview your IELTS results online 13 calendar days after your test date. Your Test Centre will notify you when they become available. You’ll need your passport number, personal details, and your test date to retrieve your results. Your results will be available online for 28 days.
How is your test marked and scored?
After you got your results: next steps
- Receive your results by SMS
In some instances, your IELTS Test Centre will offer you to receive your provisional IELTS results direct to your mobile phone by text message. If you want to know if this option is available, please check with your Test Centre before your results are released.
- Receive your IELTS results by mail
Your IELTS Test Centre will send you your Test Report Form (TRF) to your postal address. If you have taken the computer-delivered IELTS test, we will post your TRF 5-7 days after your test date. If you take the IELTS paper-based test, we will post your TRF 13 calendar days after your test date.
- Collect your IELTS results from your Test Centre
In some instances, your IELTS Test Centre may allow you to pick-up your results on the result release date. Please check with your Test Centre first.
- Send your IELTS results to institutions
We can easily send your IELTS results up to five nominated institutions. Simply let us know when you book your IELTS test.
- Didn't get the results you need?
We know it can be disappointing to not achieve the band score you were hoping for. It can be tempting to book another test right away in the hope that with luck, you’ll achieve the score you need the next time you take IELTS.
If you feel that your test performance is not reflected in the score you received, you can request an IELTS review of your score (also called an IELTS remark, or IELTS Enquiry on Result). Contact the Test Centre where you sat your test to ask about this process, send an email or chat with us.

IELTS band scores and marking
Knowing how IELTS is marked and scored will assist in your preparation, as it will give you an understanding of what level of English is required per band score.
