They aim to contribute to the development needs of Australia's partner countries in line with bilateral and regional agreements.
Papua New Guinea is included in the list of countries that are eligible for Australia Awards Scholarships.
Applicants are assessed on their professional and personal qualities, academic competence and, most importantly, their potential to impact on development challenges in Papua New Guinea.
As part of the eligibility requirements for English proficiency, applicants must have achieved an Academic IELTS overall score of 6.5 or higher (with no band less than 6.0) or equivalent.
The Pacific Engagement (subclass 192) visa, also known as the PEV, is a new Australian permanent residence visa available for eligible citizens of participating Pacific countries and Timor-Leste.
This visa is part of Australia’s permanent migration program and is aimed at increasing Pacific and Timor-Leste communities in Australia to strengthen our ongoing connections.
