How to Book: IELTS UKVI and Life Skills

IELTS for UKVI (IELTS for UKVI Academic and General, and IELTS Life Skills A1 and B1 tests) are currently only available in New Zealand in:

• IDP IELTS Auckland

If you need an IELTS test for UK visa applications, you can only do so at approved test centres. These UKVI-approved test centres meet the administrative requirements outlined by the UK Home Office.

Make sure you select the correct "Test Type." If you are taking the IELTS for your UK visa application, you need to take the IELTS UKVI or the IELTS Life Skills tests.

Book IELTS for the UK

Step 1: Select your UKVI-approved test centre

In New Zealand, IELTS for UKVI tests (IELTS for UKVI Academic and General, and IELTS Life Skills A1 and B1) are currently only available at IDP IELTS Auckland.

Step 2: Choose the format that works for you

Depending on your UK visa needs, you may choose between the following tests:

• IELTS UKVI Academic

• IELTS UKVI General Training

• IELTS Life Skills A1

• IELTS Life Skills B1

Step 3: Pick a date & time for your IELTS test

Choose when you would like to take your IELTS test at a date and time that suit you best.

Step 4: Complete the online IELTS application

Fill out the details required in the application form and click submit.
Do not forget to upload a clear copy of your passport.

Step 5: Pay the application fee

There are a few ways to pay for your IELTS test. Every test centre will have different payment options available. Generally, you will be able to use the following payment methods available:

• Bank card: Credit card / Debit card

• PayPal

• Alipay

You can choose to pay using a Visa or Mastercard debit or credit card. Make sure your card is valid and activated for online transactions.

Once you have completed all 5 steps, you will get an email or phone message confirming your IELTS test booking.
