How much is the IELTS test fee?

The cost of an IELTS test in the Pacific is NZD425.00. The test fee can be slightly higher in some locations.
The price for the test is the same whether you take IELTS General Training or IELTS Academic. There is no separate registration fee or payment processing fee. There is also no late payment fee.

How can I pay for the IELTS test?

A valid passport and you can bring a bottle of water, as long as the bottle is transparent. The centre will supply stationery.

How do I know if the IELTS Academic or General Training test is right for me?

The test you choose should be based on what it is you want to do.
The IELTS Academic test is for those who want to study at a tertiary level in an English-speaking country.
The IELTS General Training test is for those who want to do work experience or training programmes, secondary school or migrate to an English-speaking country.
All candidates take the same Listening and Speaking tests but different Reading and Writing tests.

What is the test format and how long will it take?

The IELTS has four sections – Listening (30 minutes), Reading (60 minutes), Writing (60 minutes) and Speaking (11–14 minutes). The total test time is 2 hours and 45 minutes.
The Listening, Reading and Writing tests are done in one sitting. The Speaking test may be on the same day or before or after the other tests.

We make every effort to cater for test takers' special requirements. It's our aim for all test takers to be assessed fairly and objectively. If you have any special requirements, contact your Test Centre. Centres may need 6 weeks to organise arrangements.

When will I receive my IELTS test results?

If you take the IELTS on paper test, you can preview your IELTS results online 13 calendar days after your test date.
Your Test Centre will notify you when they become available. You’ll need your passport number, personal details, and your test date to retrieve your results. Your results will be available online for 28 days.

Booking your IELTS test is easy. Click here to find a test centre near you. Once you find a test date that suits you, follow the steps to book your test.
You must have a clear and legible scanned copy of your current valid passport to upload when applying. The copy you upload must be of the page(s) with your photo, name, date of birth, passport number, and expiry date.
